My sister's friend raises chickens. Susanna gave me this beautiful dozen eggs...I love the natural variety! Here are the girls at Grassy Run Heritage Rendezvous (an example of live history). It was a great learning experience! It was sultry and hot...yeah, 80'F Friday, Saturday, Sunday and today, too! I love all the sun...and the shade.Today we got a new vehicle (since the Jeep was deemed "totaled" a few weeks ago)...it's a Toyota 4Runner. It's going to be driven mostly by Rob, but I really like it (leather seats and a sun roof...and a GREAT price)! I'll share a photo soon.
My little lilac bush blossomed. They smell so sweet...I think I could almost eat them!!!

Yay Lailacs ;D Beautiful!!!
I, too, have a friend with chickens. She gave me a dozen as a house-warming gift. They were smaller than what you would by in the store and each one was a little bit different. I loved it!
I love multi-colored eggs... so pretty. I also have a fondness for lilac bushes. They bring back fond memories of my grandparents home.
Marfa,
You all need to get some chickens! They are so easy to care for and they are instant gratification. The first egg you get from them, your hooked.
Plus, their poop is great for the garden. :)

Marfa,
I didn't know eggs can be multicoloured like that! Are they come from the same kind of chicken (sorry stupid question, probably the only eggs I seen come from grocery store)
Oops...wasn't signed into the right account! :)
The eggs look like ours! Are some of them blueish green? So jealous you have a lilac bush!!
You've been tagged btw!! :)
Love the eggs. When we are done with seminary, we hope to raise some of our own chickens.
I miss my lilac bush very much! I planted it outside our window so we could enjoy it's aroma!
wow - look at your bush already! mine is just now budding - and I need to remember to get eggs from the old farmer up the road from me!
Your girls are so cute. Love to see them happy and smiley. Love the eggs and the lillacs!
I {heart} fresh eggs! They're the best! I'm glad the weather is warm for you and that the girls are having fun. It's been 90+ here for the last couple of days. I'm so thankful for central air!!
