We went to a maple sugar shack today not far from our house. This past week we had a few days that reached the 50s, so excellent for the sap. It was snowing when we arrived here.
The air smelled sweet of maple! They can boil 100 gallons in an hour.

100 gallons/hour! Wow!!!
I'm wondering if I misunderstood and they boil 100 gallons of sap, per hour, which would equal 2 and a half gallons of maple syrup.
My son has wanted to go sugaring for some time now..
Looking at your pictures makes me chilly! But I'm sure if I were there, with the proper clothing, and making a visit to a Sugaring barn, I would be so engaged as to love the whole experience. And I would try to get some maple sugar out of the deal, for sure!
