Hannah loves doing the monkey bars. Last year in kindergarten, she got several blisters on the palm on her hands...I remember the same thing happening to me, when I was a bit older. She is so athletic and muscular. I hope she stays so healthy and I wish I could be a bit more like her. Thankfully, we all get to spend time outside together and can really have fun, playing hide and seek or whatever. Most of the time, I play as I am, run as fast as I can and play to win, after all, it isn't fun if you know someone LET you win. But no one wants to be the loser all the time, I understand that. I also don't want to be competitive, there is so much of that in the world today, who is better dressed? who has more money? who is smarter? all that stuff is ridiculous. It's all about learning and doing your very best, that's it.
It's almost pomegranate season, well, maybe in a month we'll see them in the store! Last year, we got a few of them in November, they provide me with inspiration, they're so good for you and we love to snack on them (I do LOVE to eat). This started in high school, I drew a series of 9 little drawings in colored pencils of the pomegranate whole and as I started to open it, recording what I saw at each stage, the seeds, the white membrane, the juicy flesh... I have painted quite a few lately and really want to paint pears, too, but the deep red really gets me. Colors are wonderful...today it rained quite a bit, we needed the rain, but when the clouds parted the the bright blue shone, I caught myself looking at it in awe, grateful for the beautiful natural colors God has put into our world.
OK - I can't even do the monkey bars or the rope climbing thing. Good for HANNAH - you go girl ! I agree, colors are wonderful & your pomegranate is looking NICE ! I love staring at the sky & clouds or sunset. Today, we went to Ogechee river & just stared at the water. COOL PAINTINGs ! We miss you.

Hi Marfa. Thanks for visiting my blog! That Ferris Wheel is in Looney Tunes Land at Six Flags over Texas. DH and I took our grandson there a couple of weeks ago. I also love the picture of your little girl's freckles! My oldest daughter still has those cute freckles and she is 25.
ReplyDeleteI love the LO of Hannah! I remember getting blisters on my hands from swinging on the monkey bars. My mom finally enrolled me in gymnastics! Those were the days...
ReplyDeleteYour paintings are great! Love the colors!!
These are amazing paintings! Too bad I can't fit pomegranates into my little bottles! :)
ReplyDeleteYou mean you're an artist too? That's awesome!
