It's the first yarn along of 2012...and what am I making? A hat for my newest nephew! He was born Monday January 2nd. I hope it's not itchy...it feels like a nice soft wool.I got this wool yarn while on a trip to Kentucky in May. Honestly I haven't been yarning too much lately...I've been sewing. I am working on Christmas skirts for Hannah & Olivia, using this free pattern: http://www.dana-made-it.com/2008/07/tutorial-circle-skirt.html. Twirly skirts...we celebrate the Nativity of Christ this coming Saturday!
I'm sipping some ginseng peppermint tea and eating marzipan stollen (just got it for $1.99 at Trader Joe's and it's vegan) this morning.

birth of the homeless should be celebrated in every home.” -G.K. Chesterton

What a handsome little man!! I am sure the hat will be perfect for him, and in such a great color :) And it is especially fitting during this crazy cold winter weather!!
cute hat, and cute nephew, congratulations
I love the color and the hat will be fabulous!
My brother has the same birthday :)
Aww, such a cutie! I love to knit for little ones and it's the perfect season for it!
what a sweet baby! Don't you just love making something for a newborn? I think I need to stop by for snack time. Yours sounds wonderful! :)
Congratulations on your new little nephew! Nice to have a boy in the mix (spoken by a mom of boys!) I'm sure the hat will be perfect for him.
x, Val
oh so adorable. the hat will be perfect i'm sure. :)
Thanks for the comment on my blog! I definitely want to finish this cardigan asap ,we'll see if he will actually wear it come the time ;) Mama knits are sometimes "uncool" although he is only 3,5 years old. You have to get them when they're young, then the have nothing to say about it ;) Love the color on the yarn for your nephews hat!
What a sweet little babe!
