My dad, who was named Paul, passed away in May. We've decided we're going to call him Paul. ♥
He was born at home, yesterday, Friday Sept. 18th, 2015 at 4:26pm. He is 8 pounds 3 ounces and is 21 inches long. We think his hair is red, like his big sister, Hannah.
Both of his grandmas adoring him.
Uncle Nathan loves him. He said he wanted to take him home.
Rob cutting the umbilica cord. We let it stay attached to him for about an hour after he was born, letting all the good blood go to Paul. The placenta is in the bowl...it's now in our freezer.
These photos were taking right after he was born and cleaned up. The midwife, measured and weighed him on our bed. My mom came to our house while I was in labor and brought food. Aunt Susanna came over with more food and brought over 4 cousins to meet this wee one.
Welcome to the world, wee Paul. You already know this, but you chose a wonderful family to be part of. Enjoy! Love, Great aunt - second cousin - once - removed Lucy
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!!! Paul was basically the same size as Symeon. (Symeon was 8 lb. 5 oz.) I had a feeling you were going to have a little boy. Enjoy your precious gift! Looking forward to meeting him. Miss all of you!
ReplyDeleteOh so wonderful! Congratulations to you and all your family - so happy to hear he has arrived and at home. As it should be. Precious Paul....
ReplyDeleteI got sidetracked with my boys while I was typing out my previous comment. I forgot to say that Les' family also has a similar tradition with names. Les is 4th generation Leslie and they are called by their middle name too. Les grew up being called Kevin (his family still calls him Kevin) but when he went to college, he wanted to be called Les instead and introduced himself to me as Les. Justin is carrying on Les' family tradition. When we adopted him, we changed his name to Leslie Justin.
