My parents stopped by today and mom told Olivia the story of her birth...and how they were involved! Rob was in Iraq in 2003, I was living in Fort Stewart, Georgia, (just me and little Hannah) a ten hour drive from my family in Ohio. I was so nervous (Rob had been in Baghdad for months, everyone looking for Saddam) and thought I was going to have to deliver alone, without any support. So, my parents drove down May 23rd and stayed with us...then, May 24th Rob called and said he was in Kuwait they WERE sending him home! I really didn't think they would. So May 25th he arrived and my due date was the 26th, but I was quite happy and relaxed and Olivia waited until the 29th to make her appearance. My parents had to leave on the 30th. I was so blessed...that Rob made it home, my parents were there to help babysit Hannah and everything went so smoothly!
Hannah bought this double slide Polly Pocket set for Olivia a few weeks ago with her own money (it was $10). She gave it to Olivia first thing in the morning! They played with it for a few hours...I think the water is what's really so much fun!!!
Yesterday Hannah picked out this lovely bouquet while picking up our CSA share...week #2. We got some new additions: rainbow chard and deep red beets and orange beets! 4 heads of lettuce this week, too!
That's the compost bin Rob made (it's on a "spit" so we can turn it)!
Our little farm is doing fine (you'll see red potatoes in the back, peas, carrots, green beans, onions, tomatoes, lettuce, pumpkins, we also have corn, sweet potatoes, brussel sprouts)!
250-gallon container Rob bought to collect rain water...we either fill the watering cans or attach the hose and water the garden! Last year we used 60-gallon barrels, but this HUGE thing is awesome!
Theophanies into which we may enter.
