Fair Isle sampler

My first attempt at Fair Isle...a cream alpaca yarn for the snowflake.
I'm using the leftovers from this hat I finally finished crocheting.  We are on the trampoline in this photo...sunny and 50 F.
The socks above are a gift from Hannah... my fav right now.  Little River Sock Mill, made in the USA.  ❤ And a better view of my hat!!
This is Olivia's dragster.  She designed it, cut it out of wood, sanded it painted it blue and won first place (for the fastest one!) in her whole class.  No one thought it would win because it was so thin, they assumed it would break.  Paul can't keep his little hands off it.

Swim class

First swim lesson!
My nieces came over to meet Carlee.
Everyone enjoyed the hammock swing!  The snow all melted here.  It was 60 today!!  More snow to come later this week.  I truly love a snowy winter.

Holy water

Watching as the cross is dipped into the water for the blessing.  Happy Theophany!  (I just posted this photo on Instagram and used a filter to brighten it up a bit)
The sun is shining and there are no clouds. The snow is starting to melt here.  I hope you have a great weekend!

Beeswax and snow

I ordered 8x16" beeswax honeycomb sheets through Amazon (10 sheets for $30) and we rolled them up into candles...tapers, votives, only they don't burn well. Drip all over the table...maybe we need to have a thicker wick, I just don't know.  It was fun and they're pretty.
We got more snow here Friday night and it's so pretty but very cold.
My niece and nephew gave the girls these mini stockings today...with chocolate inside.

Hello Carlee

We adopted a dog!  Her name is Carlee and she's a collie mix.  She is gentle and very sweet, but has tried to take shoes, ornaments and had a couple accidents inside the house, so we hope to train her.
Paul likes to climb up here.  And we don't want Carlee up on the couch either.
Sarah is visiting!  I've known her for 24 or 25 years.  The main reason she is here is to spend time with her mom.  Her mom is 71 and my mom is 72.  They are friends, too.
Paul is wearing a new scarf made for him, by his cousin.  I'm impressed with her ability!
Time with Grammie...we opened gifts from her.  She gave all the kids hats with lights!
It's old calendar Christmas today.  It's been a really nice day!
