Piano

We got my grandma's piano, but when we left Ft. Stewart, we had it directly shipped to my parent's house, because we didn't want in storage while we hunted for a house. So, over 2 years later, it's still there. Today, Hannah and Olivia started piano lessons, so hopefully, we'll move it into our home soon! They are both SO excited about playing piano, they both wanted to go first!
I recently watched Expelled, a movie by Ben Stein, about those who believe there was intelligent design (i.e. the Creator, God) being fired from their jobs for suggesting such things, while those who think that we were all created from a cell that was hit by lightening (i.e. the Big Bang) are thought to be more sound. Most schools are teaching children that we all evolved from something puny, no scientific evidence, just lots of theories, even Darwin admitted that nature is too complex and beautiful to have happened without intelligent design. So, whether your children are going to school (make sure you are involved and know what they are teaching) or homeschooling...this is something that will spark great discussions! What makes more sense to them? Ask them how a seed knows which plant they should be when they grow up? Yesterday, Hannah and Olivia went to a princess party...

Later, they expressed interest in playing Scrabble, which was really fun, but we didn't finish the game! That's one of my favorites. We've also been playing lots of Chinese Checkers.

I really liked Expelled! The princess party sounded like fun. We love playing scrabble here. The kids are bit young for it, but Robbie and I like it.

I hope the princess party was fun! I can't wait for Niko to get bigger so we can play some board games. It is exciting to have piano lessons - I remember mine - they were so fun! About what they teach children at school, my husband just talk to the youth groups about this. The kids told us that they are bombarded with all these various theories. We should pray for our children so that they don't get confused with what the schools are teaching.

I love Scrabble! I've been so happy lately that my oldest can spell well enough to play Scrabble with friends. This weekend he really enjoyed playing Apples to Apples with his Grandmomma who was visiting. It was HILARIOUS to see what he chose for each category.

I saw Expelled a week or two ago, and I thought it was great! Everyone should watch it. I want my kids to go to school, partly because I think I can help change the school through PTA and volunteering in the classroom. If we all we more proactive, the schools would improve. I think homeschooling is great too, of course.

Richard Sternberg goes to my Church! We've had him over to our home for dinner. Hearing his story first hand has been pretty enlightening. It's an amazing story.

How fun! The girls look beautiful. Scrabble is my all time favorite game (along with checkers).
I've been wanting to see Expelled but totally forgot about it. Thanks for the reminder!
Also, I wanted to tell you to stop by my blog and sign up for the swap, we need some crafty mama's like yourself to join us! :)
Hope all is well!

What great pics of the girls! I remember pricess parties as a little girl. They were always so much fun!

Creationism vs. Evolution is definitely a fun topic to discuss! I must say, I believe in both :)

(PS - Yes, that's me in the pink apron in the last picture at my SU workshop.)

I really want to see Expelled and now you are really making me want to get it via Netflix.

I am willing to live and let live regarding religious beliefs but I personally find it hard that someone can't believe that there is a God with all the wonder around us.
