Milk!!!

I helped a friend milk a cow...
It was a beautiful morning, but chilly...only 19' Fahrenheit.  Hopefully, I'll be helping out every Friday morning milking Sally, the Jersey cow.  Or is it Guernsey?  What's the difference??  I looked it up on Wikipedia, and they are both a reddish colored cow.  We got to take the milk home.
 Okay, back to work!
My turn to give some milk...
Hannah playing the piano with Paul...he really likes it!

Aren't cows huge?! The perspective in this shot makes Sally look especially massive. ;-) Your friend must know what breed of cow she is, and I would like to know! Jerseys are more common that Guernseys, I think... I know that Jerseys have creamy milk - yum!

I went and read about cows just now. We drink raw Jersey milk so after your question I wondered myself. The Jersey cow is smaller. I found a helpful page to read by putting in the search box, "Guernsey versus Jersey cow." In addition to the breed descriptors it discusses milk differences, butterfat content and protein. They are both wonderful milks. Both of the breeds originate in the British Isles.

Brrr....your morning sounds cold...but how cool, you are milking the cow!

Look at Paul's tiny hands covering his preciuos brest! Isn't that the most wonderful fullfillment for a mama? I'm still breastfeeding my daughter who was two years in December.
As for Sally, she is really big; I can milk a cow too, my grandma taught me to, when I was a little girl.
Have blessed days with your family!

Yes, I have to say, it is one of my favorite times...he is so cuddly when he nurses! ♥ And I know it's the best thing for him to drink. I breast fed my other girls for one year, but hope to go longer this time. Good for you, for nursing your daughter still, Cristina!!!
