Ground almonds

My sister grinds almonds in a coffee bean grinder (that she only uses for nuts and used it in some cookies with Nutella....yum), but you can buy this at Trader Joe's for just $3.99:
And use it in place of flour for a variety of recipes...we just ate pancakes made with it...yum!!!

I am excited to try ground almonds in other recipes, too...I've read that you can use it with fish, bread, pie crust, etc. A healthier alternative to flour...more protein! Costs more, but if one has a gluten allergy, this is perfect...

That sounds yummy! I love almonds and so do my kiddos. I need to find some of that flour nearby. Thanks!

Bob's Red Mill also sells ground almonds, at most grocery stores...but I'm sure it's a bit more expensive that Trader Joe's...

I've used almond meal as a pie crust and it was so yummy, and now I also use it in streusel toppings instead of flour--it adds a great flavor.

Hi, Marfa - I appreciate that you liked my recipe for the Nutella cookies... However, I do not allow other bloggers to use my photos without permission. It is fine if you would like to feature the recipe, but I would appreciate it if you could remove my photos from your post.

Thanks so much!

Removed...Jen, sorry to have taken one of your photos without permission, it was "stamped" by you with your blog and I linked to it, assuming that was okay!
